Meet and Greet

A complimentary meet and greet is arranged for new clients prior to the start of service. This consult allows us to meet you, become familiar with the pets in the home, their needs, the location of items, and to customize the services requested. We will go over the Service Agreement, Veterinary Release Form, Pet Information Sheets, policies and procedures, and pick up a house key.  If follow up visits prior to the start of service are needed, they will be at $20 per visit.

Client Portal / Online Scheduling

The Client Portal on this website allows users to create their own account, and log in to request services.  (Services are not scheduled until approved and confirmed).  New clients may also request services, but a meet and greet is required before acceptance as a client.  Please answer all questions about your pet(s) and your home. We refer to your online profile while caring for your pets. You may also pay online, check your schedule, and cancel visits through this secure site.

Reservations

Lindsay's Pet Care is a reservation in advance pre-pay service.  All funds must be received prior to the start of service.  The online scheduling system allows reservations up to 48 hours in advance of the start date. Please call or text for emergency or last minute requests and we will try our best to accommodate. A fee may apply for last minute requests.

Payments

As a pre-pay reservation service, payment is due before the start of service. Funds may be cash, check, or credit via the Client Portal.   Past due invoices are subject to a $5 late fee for every 5 days the invoice is overdue. We may terminate service for non-payment.

Rates vary by distance, number of pets, and tasks involved.  You must choose a visit time that allows for all requested tasks to be completed. Please see our Services page for rates.

Minimum Visit Requirements

All dogs require a minimum of 3 visits per day, and cats a minimum of 1 visit per day, while their owners are out of town.

Visit Times

We cannot guarantee specific times for visits (to allow for reasonable delays from prior visits), but will operate within a 2-hour window to arrive as close as possible to the requested time.

Cancellation Policy

For Pet Sitting:  Cancellations may be made up to 1 week before the start of service with no charge.  Cancellations made within 1 week to 48 hours before the start of service are subject to a 50% late cancellation fee for the total amount invoiced. There is no refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of the start of service.

For Dog Walking:  Cancellations made inside of 48 hours are subject to a $5 late cancellation fee per visit.

Holiday Policy

There is an extra $10 per visit charge for the following holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Easter Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Home Access

A house key will be the primary form of access to the home.  Garage door or other access codes can be a secondary form of access, but cannot be relied upon in the event of a power outage or battery failure. For the safety of the pets in the home, all doors must remain locked prior to the start of service and during service. For insurance purposes, other person(s) should not be permitted access to the home during the service period. Special arrangements may be considered on a case by case basis.

Pet Safety

For the safety of the pets in the home, we will not allow any dogs to be off-leash, to remain in an outside kennel, or to have unsupervised access to the outdoors (i.e. dog door) during the service period.  All indoor/outdoor cats must remain indoors during the service period.  We provide private leashed walks (no group walks) and no off-leash play with strange dogs (i.e. no dog parks).  If an invisible fence is to be used, the dogs are required to wear their collars and the units must be operational.

Pet-Proofing and Liability

It is the pet owner's responsibility to “pet proof” their home and property, including but not limited to inspecting latches, doors, gates, fences, crates, and other equipment meant to contain their pet(s).  Lindsay's Pet Care is not responsible for costs, expenses, losses, liabilities and claims arising out of or relating to the pet(s) except in cases of negligence or intentional misconduct on the part of Lindsay's Pet Care.
